One year after the audacious theft of thousands of gold bars and millions of dollars from Pearson International Airport, Canadian authorities have made six arrests.
Air Canada Employees Among Suspects
Among those charged are two employees of Air Canada, along with an alleged firearms trafficker. The nine suspects are facing a range of charges, including theft, conspiracy, and trafficking in firearms.
Multimillion-Dollar Heist
The 2023 heist, which made international headlines, involved the theft of 6,600 gold bars valued at over $20 million. The stolen gold was later found in a storage facility outside of Toronto.
Ongoing Investigation
Police continue to investigate the heist, with a focus on the role of any inside accomplices. The arrests are a significant step forward in bringing those responsible to justice.
